What we collect
AskPublicHealth does not collect names, email addresses, or any personal identifiers. When you submit a query:
- Query text — hashed with SHA-256 and cached in DynamoDB for 24 hours to avoid redundant computation. The hash is one-way and cannot be reversed.
- IP address — used solely for rate limiting (20 requests/hour). Stored as a hashed key in DynamoDB; not logged or linked to query content.
We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or advertising networks.
Third-party services
Queries are processed by Amazon Bedrock (Claude by Anthropic) running in AWS us-east-1. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to model inference. AWS's privacy policy applies to infrastructure.
Data sources
All health data served by this tool comes from publicly available US government datasets (CDC, NCHS, University of Wisconsin). No proprietary or personal health records are stored or queried.
